Fred Koogler has more than 39 years experience working in financial services. His varied career spans the consumer finance, banking, thrift, insurance, financial planning, and securities industries. He has been a bank CFO and COO, served as CEO of a bank holding company investment and financial services subsidiary, and was the owner and CEO of a high production independent financial planning practice. Fred most recently served as a regional vice president with a major independent broker/dealer firm. His responsibilities included reaching out to financial advisors across the country to assist them with a
variety of business development activities. Fred now provides consulting, mentoring and coaching services for independent financial services entrepreneurs.
Fred sold and successfully transitioned his financial planning practice, after 17 years of ownership. During his 17 years as an independent financial planning practitioner, he was registered with AIG Financial Advisors and its predecessor companies. He was consistently among the highest producers in the company. Fred chaired AIGFA's Management's Advisory Council in 1991 and 1992.
Fred has extensive experience in writing and presenting workshops and educational sessions for both the public and financial services professionals in continuing education programs. He has coached and mentored numerous financial professionals and executives in his long career.
Fred holds a graduate degree in banking from the Colorado Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 53, 63, 65 and insurance licenses.
When not working, Fred enjoys time with family, reading, creative writing and music. Fred is a 2007 inductee in the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association's Hall of Fame for his work as a guitarist and bass player for more than 40 years.
